On September 10th, the DE-RISK project officially launched a crowdlending campaign aimed at expanding the local energy flexibility pilot currently underway in Murcia, Spain. This initiative is designed to attract local investors, by offering them the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge European project focused on promoting renewable energy and enhancing energy efficiency in the region’s housing stock.
The webinar that kicked off the campaign featured presentations from key players in the project. Ricardo Perez-de-Zabalza, representing MIW Energía, introduced the Murcia-based energy company, which is serving as the borrower of the collective loan. MIW Energía, a vital partner in the DE-RISK project, will utilize the funds raised to incorporate a new home into the ongoing energy flexibility pilot.
Miguel Miñano, also from MIW Energía, provided a comprehensive overview of the DE-RISK project, including its objectives, pilot programs, and the progress made so far. The DE-RISK project, which spans several European countries, aims to boost the deployment of renewable energy by developing local flexibility markets. These markets are seen as essential for managing energy consumption more effectively and enabling the integration of renewable sources into the grid.
Jordi Sole-Muntada, from Ecrowd, then detailed the workings of the crowdlending campaign, explaining how local investors can participate and support the project. Crowdlending offers an innovative way to mobilize local capital, providing individuals with the opportunity to invest in sustainable projects that directly benefit their communities. In this case, the funds will help scale the DE-RISK pilot, supporting the broader goals of energy efficiency and sustainability in Murcia.
This campaign not only represents a significant step forward for the DE-RISK project but also creates a new avenue for local residents to contribute to the transition toward greener energy solutions. By investing in the project, residents can play a direct role in shaping a more sustainable future for Murcia and Europe.
